A fine and detailed cast plaster statue possible representing the Greek god Helios.

Stamp of Felix sanzel's workshop. 

In excellent order. Age related abrasions. 

Height 57cm.

Félix Sanzel is the pupil of Auguste Dumont and Alex-Hipolyte Fromanger at the   Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

He exhibited at the Salon of 1849. He made public commissions for the Louvre Palace, the  Palais Garnie where the reconstruction of the City Hall of Paris. He received an honorable mention at the Salon of 1861. Sanzel wins a medal at the Salon of 1868 for the captive Love, a group of marble adorning the rose garden in the Garden of Plants in Paris.

His workshop was located at No.16 Rue de Chalons in Paris.
